Springtime Events in Austin

December 29th, 2009

There is nothing quite like springtime in Austin. The air is fresh, the temperatures are warmer and everyone throughout the city is anticipating summertime. Spring is also a wonderful time of year for things to do in Austin. Here are just a few of the events that are coming up this March, April and May.

Get a peak at the origins of modern art at the Blanton Museum of Art. This retrospective features work by Francisco de Goya, one of the most respected artists in human history. The BMA has established itself as one of the premiere art venues in the state and this showcase only furthers that reputation. You can see this show starting in November all the way through the beginning of March. Don’t miss it.

Beerland has long been one of the most popular venues for fun in the city and with their weekly Rock n’ Roll Karaoke, it is easy to see why. Get up on stage and belt out your favourite song every Monday through the spring. As the temps heat up outside, the fun at Beerland heats up, too. Great drink specials, fun themed nights and more await you at Austin’s best watering hole, Beerland.

The Austin’s Children’s Museum holds a weekly Monday morning play session aimed at the youngest and most precious members of our family. Baby Bloomers at the Austin Children’s Museum begins every Monday at 9am to noon and features a relaxed, hands on play atmosphere that babies and parents love. Interact with other parents and stay on top of all of the latest news and trends. The price is low and the fun is everywhere, so let your child make new friends this Monday at the Austin Children’s Museum.

Need to get into better shape? How about a springtime bootcamp to get your muscles bulging and your tummy flat? The Indoor Fitness Bootcamp is sure to get you in shape fast. Held at Austin Rock Gym South, this bootcamp allows you to join at any time and promises to be a challenge to anyone of any fitness level. Get in shape like never before with the Indoor Fitness Bootcamp.
